On 14th March 2024, the Executive Director of Transparency International Rwanda (TI-Rwanda), Apollinaire Mupiganyi, delivered a special presentation during a consultative meeting on the state of corruption in Rwanda.
The session brought together parliamentarians, representatives of key government institutions involved in anti-corruption efforts, and other stakeholders.
In his presentation, the Executive Director provided insights into the state of corruption based on TI-Rwanda’s research and international studies, including Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). The latest 2024 edition ranked Rwanda third in Africa, with a score of 57%.
Additionally, he highlighted findings from the Open Budget Survey (OBS), the world’s only independent and comparative measure of budget transparency, public participation, and oversight, emphasizing budget transparency and citizen engagement.
