APNAC RWANDA AND TI-RWANDA SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

Transparency International Rwanda (TI-Rw) and the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption Rwanda (APNAC Rwanda) signed a five-year contract during a two days retreat which was held in Musanze 26th-27th April 2019.

The two parties agreed to partner in the enhancement of perpetual community campaigns in a bid to shed more light upon the findings of their researches on corruption countrywide and also to sensitize private sector, faith based organizations and citizens to collaborate in fighting corruption that leads to poor service delivery.

Senator Jean Népomuscène SINDIKUBWABO, APNAC Rwanda President, commended TI-Rw for its contribution in fighting against corruption. According to Marie Immaculee Ingabire, the TI-Rw Chairperson, the retreat was very productive and the joint partnership will make it easier to disseminate research findings and its primary purpose the contribution to the fight against corruption through advocacy will be reached.

In his remarks, Governor Gatabazi expressed his gratitude for the joint partnership and emphasized that the effective fight against corruption requires collaboration with all stakeholders include citizens who have a key role of watchdog .

Different research findings on corruption were shared during the retreat and when presenting “Gender Based Corruption at Workplace”, Apollinaire Mupiganyi, TI-Rw Executive Director called upon concentrated efforts to uproot this kind of corruption that mostly affects women.
