The legal framework in Rwanda

Be aware, Be aware, Be aware

In its mission of fighting corruption and promoting good governance, Transparency International Rwanda reminds all Rwandan citizens their role and responsibility in that struggle and calls upon each Rwandan citizen to add his/her voice in the fight against corruption and related offence.

Transparency International Rwanda also reminds you that the Law number 23/2003 of 07/08/2003 on the Prevention and Fight against corruption and related offence makes it clear in its article 37 that whoever will provide information on acts of corruption and related offenses will benefit from the jurisdiction the following amount of money for the encouragement of such denunciation:

  1. One tenth (1/10) of the value of the goods seized from the author of the infraction,
  2. From 20,000 to 100,000 Rwf paid by the author of the infraction in case there are no goods to confiscate.
